The Basics

The Route
Stands directly beside the palace, one of Europe's youngest cathedrals, completed in 1993, with a striking neoclassical and Gothic Revival façade visible from the tuk tuk.
Dates to the 9th century, when Madrid was a Moorish fortress town called Mayrit. Most visitors walking on their own never find it, but it's a standard stop on every route.

Pick the Right Length
If the Royal Palace is your main goal and you're short on time, the 60-minute Classic tour (€89) covers the palace, Almudena Cathedral, and the closest surrounding plazas without adding areas further afield.
For most visitors, the 90-minute Highlights tour (€119) is the strongest match — it's built as a highlights overview of exactly this part of the city, adding Plaza Mayor, La Latina, and the literary quarter around the palace core.
